The Company
Rémy Cointreau is an leading company in the international wine and liquor industry and owns a highly valued brand portfolio of brands such as : Rémy Martin, Cointreau, Passoã, Mount Gay Rum, Metaxa, Charles Heidsleck, Piper - Heidsleck.
Rémy Cointreau wishes through its uniqueness of its Premium brands be the reference for demanding consumers. The origin of the group goes back to the 18th century although the actual structure started in 1990 (fusion between Rémy Martin and Cointreau). The group employs over 1200 collaborators spread out over 3 continents: Europe, North America and Asia.
Customer Challenges
Rémy Cointreau's IT department launched a SAP integration project in April 2007 and thus needed a solution to manage this large scale project. Previously they used Excel, but it became next to impossible with the amount of data to manage. « There is more than one hundred people who work on this project so a centralized management tool was desperately needed ».
Rémy Cointreau's IT department plans activities for the next three coming months on all its going projects as well as for scalable and corrective support. It needed an efficient solution to manage reporting on time spent by each collaborator in order to make planning activities reliable and accurate.
The Solution
Rémy Cointreau chose Genius Project4Domino for its good value for money as well as for their professionalism and proven commercial and technical skills. The deployment started in April 2007 and today all employees are fully operational on the solution. As a side note Rémy Cointreau had some technical problems due to their Lotus Notes platform that were successfully solved by Genius Inside's consulting and support teams.
The Results
Remy Cointreau primarily uses Genius Planner and the timesheets module to plan and follow up all projects. All projects from the IT department are integrated in Genius Project4Domino to have a centralized management and visibility by all team members. Genius Planner allows a general planning for all projects with Excel sheets for the task details and to track deliverables. «This tool allows us to have an overview of all projects and its progress, which allows us to better, arbitrate and prevent conflicts between different projects”.
The integration of the timesheets in the solution is also very appreciated to have a better reporting of time spent of various tasks, which allows for better resource allocation.
The Future
« We still haven't taken advantage of all possibilities from Genius Project4Domino. In the future, we hope to develop workflow management for deliverable approval and also project requests to manage our portfolio.
